Deadline for Submission of Abstracts

Abstract must be uploaded to the below link with the Authors' name before 23 December 2024


Confirmation of Receipt and Notification of Decision

After submitting your abstract, you will receive an email confirmation that your abstract has been received.

  • Please contact the Secretariat if you submitted an abstract and do not receive an email confirmation
  • Notifications regarding status of your abstract will be sent out by 25th January 2025
  • Presentations whose abstracts are accepted are required to register as 9th IICC participants in 2025 no later than 28th February 2025


Presentation at the Conference

Instructions for preparation of poster presentations will be sent together with acceptance notifications.

  • The Committee will endeavour to schedule abstracts according to authors' preferences but reserves the right to decide on the final form of presentation
  • For each abstract, at least one author is expected to attend the Conference. Presenting authors must register for the Conference and pay the registration fee
  • Abstract presenters need to register by registration deadline for inclusion in the Conference programme and for presentation scheduling 


Selection Criteria 

Abstracts submitted will be evaluated for selection of oral presentation and poster display based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance of the objectives to the conference's core themes and categories
  • Applicability and practical value of the program or research
  • Robustness of the methodology and conclusion
  • Potential for clinical or service enhancement
  • Originality and creativity of the work

Guidelines on Preparation of Abstracts


All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English

Abstracts selected for oral presentation and poster display will be presented in a standardized format, following the provided sample template HERE.


Abstract Content

The abstract content should be organized under the following sections:

  • Introduction/Background
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions


Word Count

The total number of words in the abstract, including the title and author names, should not exceed 400 words.


Author Information

Authors should provide their initials and last name only, without degrees, titles, or institutional appointments.

The name(s) of the institution(s) where the work was carried out should follow the list of authors and be correspondingly indexed.

Example:

Yeung JHH(1), Cheung NK(1)(2), Graham CA(1)(2), Rainer TH(1)(2)

(1)Trauma and Emergency Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, (2)Accident and Emergency Medicine Academic Unit, The Chinese University of Hong Kong


Formatting

First word and all major words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and pronouns) of the title should be capitalized.

Example title: "Major Trauma in Elderly Patients in Hong Kong"

Standard abbreviations should be used. Any special or unusual abbreviations should be placed in parentheses after the term when it appears for the first time.

Symbols should not be used.


Visuals

Tables and graphs are not allowed to be included in the abstract submission.


Acceptance and Editing

Please note that abstracts may be rejected for publication if they do not conform to the standard format. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to perform final editing of accepted abstracts.


Permissions

The Abstract Submitter must warrant that all the information and content provided does not infringe on any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

The Abstract Submitter grants the Organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content.
